Veteran’s advice to Hardik Pandya, if you consider yourself an all-rounder, then show it by performing in the match, so far…

New Delhi. There is constant discussion about the selection of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has performed average for the Indian cricket team so far, in the T20 World Cup team. Former fast bowler Irfan Pathan said Indian cricket should not give so much priority to Hardik Pandya as an all-rounder at the international level as he has failed to impress in ICC tournaments.

This all-rounder of Mumbai Indians is struggling with poor form in this IPL season due to which questions are being raised about his inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup team. The team is to be announced soon. Pathan said in ‘Press Room Show, Ticket to World Cup’ on Star Sports, “Speaking about Hardik Pandya, Indian cricket needs to make it clear that he should not be given as much priority as they have given till now. Because we have not won the World Cup yet (in his presence).

He said, “If you think that you are a main all-rounder then you have to perform like that at the international level. As far as the all-rounder is concerned, he has not impressed at the international level. We are just thinking about his potential.

Till now Hardik Pandya has not been able to prove himself as an all-rounder for India. Neither has he got 1 wicket per match in T20 International as a bowler, nor has he been able to score even 30 runs per match. After playing 92 T20 Internationals, he has taken only 73 wickets and has 1348 runs in his account. Irfan said, “Indian cricket has to stop doing this.” Stop giving importance to any one player because if you do so, you cannot win big tournaments.
