After the three phases of voting in the Lok Sabha elections, the campaigning of political parties has intensified. Leaders of different parties are accusing each other. In this series, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticized his ‘fake child of Balasaheb’ statement. Thackeray said that he would not tolerate insult to his parents.

Uddhav was addressing a rally organized for his party’s Shirdi Lok Sabha seat candidate Bhausaheb Wakchore at Shrirampur in Ahmednagar. During this he said, the Prime Minister will give such statements on one hand. Then on May 17, during his visit to Mumbai, he will bow at the Shivaji Park memorial of the late Shiv Sena founder.

He said, at a rally in Telangana the Prime Minister said that he wanted to ask about Balasaheb’s fake child. Modi ji should fight with me, but I will not tolerate it if you insult my parents. Thackeray said the Prime Minister had no problem in collecting his signature during nominations for the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but now he was targeting his party.

What did PM Modi say in his statement

Prime Minister Modi, while addressing an election rally in Rajampet, Andhra Pradesh, had said, ‘I just remember Balasaheb Thackeray’s fake Shiv Sena… just remember Balasaheb… I want to ask his fake children. …I also want to ask their elderly leader, who said that the people of Western India sound like Arabic, whether the people of Maharashtra accept this language. Congress thinks that the people of North India look like whites, can you accept this? Congress, which divided the country for power, has now come down to making racist remarks against Indians. What has happened to Congress?
