A video of the wedding has been shared by travel influencer Dana Chang, where all the expenses of all the guests were being paid by the family.
The influencer shared the video and wrote, ‘This is what a Crazy Rich Asian wedding looks like in real life.’ He told that the wedding couple gave all the guests an unforgettable experience in life. The couple took the guests to China at their own expense, and arranged 5 star hotels for their stay there. A fleet of Rolls Royce cars and Bentley cars were deployed to receive the guests and take them to and from the hotel. It looked like a European wedding.
The influencer further said in the video that phone booths were decorated with flowers, while newspapers were decorated with pictures of the bride and groom. There is a tradition in Chinese weddings where guests give the newlyweds a red bag full of money as a gift and wish them a happy married life, but here everything was the opposite. The newlyweds reversed this ritual and gave these envelopes to the guests, and did not accept anything in return.
The influencer captioned the video saying that the couple gave each guest $800 (approximately ₹66,000) in red pockets in addition to wedding gifts. I am still amazed by the red pocket ritual. Guests were also given paid return flights.
