Men’s Deaf T20: India created history by winning the series across the seven seas, defeating England 5-2

New Delhi. The Indian deaf cricket team has created history by defeating England on its own soil. Team India won the IT20 series 5-2 by defeating the hosts by 6 wickets in the seventh and final match of the series. India won the toss in the last match and invited England to bat first. The host team scored 164 runs by losing 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, the Indian team won the match with 4 balls to spare on the basis of half-century innings of Abhishek Singh and Umar Ashraf.

The Indian team (IND vs ENG) did not have a good start while chasing the target of 165 runs. Team India’s three main batsmen returned to the pavilion with a score of only 46. After this, Abhishek Singh and Umar Ashraf took charge. Both of them shared a 95-run partnership and rescued the team from difficulty. Abhishek was out after scoring 68 runs, while Ashraf played a useful innings of 56 runs. India won this match in 19.2 overs with a loss of 4 wickets. Abhishek was chosen as the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings.

Indian player Sai Akash, who performed brilliantly in the series, was selected as the Player of the Series. The Indian team went on this 15-day England tour under the leadership of head coach Santosh Kumar Rai, coach Dev Dutt and manager Vineet Malhotra. This was the first such foreign bilateral tour to England for the Indian Deaf team.
