Indian students trouble in Canada protesting against Justin Trudeau government

Canada News: Many provinces of Canada are currently facing two-sided protests. Both foreign and regional citizens living in Canada are protesting against the government. Regional people say that due to government laxity, foreigners are taking over everything from jobs to other things, while foreign citizens are angry with the Canadian government for changing the rules. This has had the biggest impact on Indian students, after which Indian students have now started protesting on the streets.

Canada’s Prince Edward Islands (PEI) province has started reducing its immigration permits due to heavy opposition from the regional people. The province, which is facing a large number of foreign nationals, has made some changes in its rules. This has had the worst effect on Indian students, after which hundreds of Indian students are facing deportation. People of PEI, Canada’s smallest province, said that they do not want more immigrants now. According to India Today’s report, housing, health facilities and employment are the major issues in Prince Edward Islands, due to which the province has reduced the immigration rules by changing them by 25 percent.

Foreigners getting jobs
Local people feel that immigrants are taking away their share of opportunities. This protest is more for the youth who have come on student visa. They say that student visa is misused to get permanent residence and citizenship in Canada. A local person said that people from abroad have pushed us out. What is happening in Prince Edward Islands is now visible in other provinces as well. It is said that the number of immigrants has increased rapidly on Prince Edward Islands after the year 2006. People of PEI feel that their jobs are going to foreigners.

Foreigners increased due to flexible rules
A person from PEI said, ‘We should fix the problems here, all the jobs on the islands are going to people who are not from here.’ The reason for resentment against immigrants is also population growth and lack of housing facilities. The rent of houses on the islands has increased due to the arrival of foreigners. Local people are blaming the relaxation in rules for the increase in the number of immigrants. They believe that due to flexible rules, the number of immigrants has increased on these islands. This has also affected the health services.
