America is making a strategy to surround China. Under this, America organized a trilateral conference in April along with Japan and Philippines. Now a new organization has been formed from this conference, which has been named SQUAD. This organization includes America, Japan, Philippines as well as Australia. Philippines is having a dispute with China in the South China Sea.
The importance of Quad is still high
On the other hand, foreign affairs experts believe that even though the US has formed a new organization with the Philippines, Japan and Australia, the Quad organization with India as its member is still more important. The Lowy Institute has published a report on this. According to the report, even though the US has formed a new organization to surround China, the Quad organization with India, Japan, Australia and the US as its member is still more important. Experts say that the Quad conference to be held in New Delhi recently was postponed. Also, Russia’s support in the Russia-Ukraine war, India’s absence from the United Nations resolution on this issue, the S-400 deal with Russia and the deal for Iran’s Chabahar port were the things due to which the US remained angry with India and it is believed that this is why the Quad weakened.
Professor Mishra, a JNU foreign affairs expert, said that although the Squad organization looks effective right now, its impact is limited to a particular region. On the other hand, the impact of the Quad organization in which India is a member can be seen on the entire Indian Pacific Ocean.
