There is a ruckus about the vice-captaincy in the Pakistan team before the T20 World Cup 2024. Recently, some media reports claimed that Shaheen Afridi was offered the vice-captaincy by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). However, he turned it down. Now the board has denied these reports and issued a statement.
Actually, after the ODI World Cup 2023, there was a change in the Pakistan team. The captaincy was taken away from Babar Azam and handed over to Shaheen Afridi. However, after a few months he was also removed and before the T20 World Cup, the reins were once again handed over to Babar Azam. Surprisingly, there is no vice-captain in the Pakistan team.
