The Central Government has renamed the Nehru Memorial as the Prime Minister’s Memorial Museum and Library. The opposition party Congress has started raising hue and cry over the renaming of the Nehru Memorial. Targeting the Congress, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that they only care about Nehru and his family. On Jairam Ramesh’s statement, he said, ‘There is a big difference in the thinking of Congress party, Jairam Ramesh and PM Modi. For them (Congress), only Nehru and his family matter.
He said that PM Modi has given respectable place to all the Prime Ministers of the country in the museum. The BJP MP asked the question why Lal Bahadur Shastri did not get a place in the museum? He also said that neither Indira Gandhi nor Rajiv Gandhi was given a place there. Morarji Desai, Atal Vihari Bajpai, IK Gujral and HD Deve Gowda were also not ranked there.
