Voting is being held in Delhi today on 25 May for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Voting is progressing slowly at the polling stations, but the kind of heat that is seen during the assembly elections or municipal elections is not visible at the booth. In a very quiet manner compared to the assembly or corporation elections, the workers of political parties are making slips for the voters and helping them to vote. Maintaining the voting percentage amid the scorching heat of Delhi remains a big challenge for the political parties. There is not much crowd at most polling stations. However, voters are coming out continuously and voting is going on continuously.

This time in Delhi, there is a direct contest between BJP and Congress-Aam Aadmi Party alliance. BJP candidates are facing competition from Congress on three seats and Aam Aadmi Party candidates on four seats. Some small political parties or independents have also filed nominations on every seat, but except Rajkumar who left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BSP, no other candidate has any major influence. This is the reason why only two counters are visible at almost every booth. Due to this, voting is going on in a very peaceful manner.

Every arrangement for voters

Volunteers from schools are engaged to help the disabled. Volunteers Rosie and Anju told Amar Ujala that they are helping the disabled or elderly voters. Dinesh Kumar, engaged in security, said that the voters are voting very peacefully and there is no problem anywhere. Adequate arrangements of water and shade have been made for the voters at the polling station.

Voters said vote for change

Sunita Upadhyay, a woman who came to cast her vote at a polling booth in East Delhi, told Amar Ujala that she is voting to send Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Centre for the third time. Narendra Modi has done a lot of work for women. He has given reservation to empower them economically and has worked to secure the dignity of every woman, so she is voting for him. Meanwhile, Awadhesh Kumar said that he is troubled due to inflation and unemployment. He is voting for change.

Big leaders cast their votes

Along with the common people, big leaders of Delhi are also voting. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva cast his vote and appealed to the people of Delhi to vote in large numbers. BJP candidates Harsh Malhotra, Bansuri Swaraj, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, Yogendra Chandolia have cast their votes. Other leaders are also continuously coming out and appealing to the people to vote.
