A major incident took place in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district on Saturday. There was an explosion in the gunpowder factory in Berla. Eight people have been confirmed dead in the explosion. The death toll may increase. It is feared that many people are trapped under the rubble. The administration team is carrying out rescue operations. A dozen people have been injured. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
According to the information, there has been an explosion in the gunpowder factory located in village Borsi under Berla block of Bemetara district. The incident happened this morning. The sound of the blast in the gunpowder factory was heard for several kilometers. Due to this, people from nearby villages have gathered in large numbers at the spot.
There was a stir in the area after the blast. Meanwhile, the rescue team reached the spot three hours after the incident. Seven of the injured were admitted to Mekahara Hospital in Raipur, out of which one person died.
Patients have also been admitted to various private hospitals in Raipur. Bemetara Collector said that SDM has reached the spot. It is not yet clear how many people are injured. Many people are buried under the debris. Efforts are being made to rescue them.
