Pakistani origin leader Sadiq Khan has created history on Saturday. He won the post of Mayor of London for the third time. The Labor Party has performed well in local elections in England and Wales. CNN gave this information.

Khan, a Labor Party leader, defeated his Conservative rival Susan Hall by securing 43.7 percent of the vote. He got 11 percent more votes than in the 2016 mayor election. Among the total 13 candidates for the post of Mayor, Delhi-born businessman Tarun Gulati, contesting as an independent candidate, got a total of 24,702 votes and stood tenth.

After winning the election, he thanked the people of London and said that he will work tirelessly to create a safe and green city for every Londoner.
