Jharkhand Lok Sabha Elections JMM BJP Congress Candidates Giridih Yashaswini Sahay Sanjay Seth Polling 2024

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Voting will be held on four Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand on Saturday (25 May). The Election Commission has completed preparations for the voting. The seats in the state where voting is to be held in this phase include Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi and Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seats. A large number of security forces have been deployed at all polling stations. Voting will begin at 7 am and end at 5 pm.

This is the sixth phase of voting in the country while voting will be held in the third round in Jharkhand. A total of 93 candidates are in the fray for the 4 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Ranchi Lok Sabha seat has the highest number of candidates in the fray. An election official gave this information on Friday.

How many candidates on which seat in Jharkhand?

A total of 16 candidates are in the fray for Giridih Lok Sabha seat in Jharkhand. A total of 25 candidates are trying their luck in Dhanbad. There are 25 candidates for Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. While the maximum number of 27 candidates are contesting for Ranchi Lok Sabha seat. There are a total of 82.16 lakh voters on all four seats. These include 40.09 lakh women voters.

How many voters are above 100 years of age?

Out of the total voters in the 4 Lok Sabha seats of the state, 2.5 lakh are first time voters in the age group of 18-19, while there are 290 third gender voters. Interestingly, a total of 766 voters in this phase are above 100 years of age. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Neha Arora said that all preparations have been completed to conduct the voting.

Tight security arrangements at 8,963 polling stations

According to the election officer, 35,852 polling personnel are being deployed in the state for the third phase. The voting teams were dispatched to their respective locations on Friday. Adequate security arrangements have been ensured at every booth. A total of 8,963 polling stations have been set up in the four parliamentary constituencies. Webcasting facilities will be available at all polling stations. Out of the total polling stations, 175 will be managed by women.

Who is contesting on which seat?

In Jharkhand, a direct contest is likely between the JMM-led ruling coalition and the BJP-led opposition on all four Lok Sabha seats. In Ranchi Lok Sabha seat, Congress’ Yashaswini Sahay is in the fray. She is the daughter of former Union minister Subodh Kant Sahay. She is fighting a direct battle against BJP’s sitting MP Sanjay Seth. In Dhanbad, there is a direct fight between BJP’s Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahato and Congress’ Bermo MLA Kumar Jayamangal’s wife Anupama Singh.

In Jamshedpur, there is a contest between BJP’s sitting MP Vidyut Baran Mahto and JMM’s Baharagora MLA Samir Mohanty. In Giridih, AJSU Party’s Chandra Prakash Choudhary is pitted against JMM’s Tundi MLA Mathura Mahto.
