Chinese Spy Ship In Indian Ocean Region Surveillance Vessel Xiang Yang Hong 01

China Spy Ship: After deploying maritime forces in the South China Sea against ASEAN countries, China has at least two Chinese survey and spy ships in the Indian Ocean region. The high-powered Chinese surveillance vessel Jiang Yang Hong 01 is anchored in international waters 600 miles west of the Andaman Islands (in the middle of the Bay of Bengal).

According to Hindustan Times report, China’s Jiang Yang Hong 01 is testing vehicles under water. This ship can stay at a depth of 12 kilometers and can map the seabed for three months and collect ocean related data for future submarine operations. XYH 01 entered the Bay of Bengal on the night of 7-8 March and is still deployed in the area.

A spy ship in the Maldives

Another Chinese survey ship, Jiang Yang Hong 03, is employing unmanned systems for marine observation and hydrographic survey up to 350 miles of the Maldives, said Maldivian President Moizzu Male, a friend of China. While the Indian Navy is monitoring the activities of these Chinese ships in international waters, its main objective is to validate maritime models for future deployment of naval assets in the IOR, such as aircraft carriers. XYH 03 entered the IOR about three months ago and continues to operate out of the Maldives.

Third ship in Mauritius

A third surveillance ship, Da Yang Hao, is based 1,200 miles south of Port Louis in Mauritius and the 45th PLA Anti-Piracy Escort Force is operating 550 miles southwest of the capital. The PLA’s anti-piracy task force 46th is operating in the Gulf of Aden, although there have been no reports of Chinese ships intercepting any Somalian pirates or neutralizing any Houthi missiles.
