Before Eid 2024 Pakistan increases petrol Diesel jet fuel price people not happy

Pakistan Diesel Price: Pakistan’s cash-strapped economy has taken a huge toll on the lives of its citizens, increasing their struggles, misery and suffering with a steady rise in inflation. Now the government is going to announce another big increase in petrol prices. According to Sama TV, after Eid-ul-Fitr the government can increase the price by at least Rs 10-11 per liter.

Government sources say that the increase in fuel price will be announced on Sunday. This increase is due to higher import premium and global prices.

“Petrol prices are likely to rise. But the price of another key fuel, high-speed diesel (HSD), is likely to fall by Rs 2 per litre,” a government source said.

Economic expert Khaliq Kiani said, “The import price of petrol has increased by about $4 per barrel. Therefore, the price of petrol is expected to increase.” After the increase, the price of petrol in Pakistan will exceed Rs 290 per liter.

A local resident of Islamabad said, “Last year, the working class and the common man paid more taxes. And again, the government wants to put more burden on the people with the increase in fuel prices.”

An auto-rickshaw driver from Rawalpindi said, “I want to ask the government to please tell me how to run my household and my children’s expenses. I drive an auto-rickshaw every day and earn Rs 800 to 1000 on an average. Now my earnings will be further reduced. I cannot drive my auto-rickshaw… and with a daily earning of less than Rs 800, my family will be forced to eat only once a day.”

Another local resident of Islamabad said, “We used to buy groceries for a month earlier. Now, it has come down to 15 days and due to inflation and high prices of basic commodities, we have had to compromise on many things .”
