Ambikapur News: An incident of explosion of a cylinder filled with helium gas used to fill air balloons took place between 2 pm and 2.30 pm in the premises of Swami Vivekananda Vidya Niketan School, a private school in Ambikapur city of Chhattisgarh. As soon as the incident came to notice, Collector Kundan Kumar and Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma reached the spot as a quick action. Air balloons were being installed in the school premises by the private organization Hindu Yuva Manch for the purpose of publicity. During this, people nearby got injured due to the explosion of air balloon and cylinder. In which five youth and 40 children of the said organization are included.
About 40 children injured, youth from 5 organizations also included
Under the direction of Collector and Superintendent of Police, Surguja, the spot was sealed and the children were immediately sent to the hospital for first aid under the supervision of the Collector and SP. In this, 28 children were sent to the district hospital and 12 children were sent to Masoom Hospital. All the children have been provided first aid by providing necessary medical facilities. All the children have been discharged after first aid. Five youths of the Hindu Yuva Manch organization, who installed the air balloon, were also injured during the incident and have been admitted to hospitals for immediate treatment, the condition of all is normal. Which includes Adarsh Gupta, Sandeep Agharia, Sanjeet Sutar, Som Gupta and Ramnivas Tiwari.
Collector-SP took stock
Collector and SP themselves stayed at the incident site and took stock of the entire incident and took information from the school management. Besides, the district and police administration team including Additional Superintendent of Police, SDM Ambikapur, Police Station Incharge, Tehsildar and revenue and police officers were immediately directed to ensure the safety and treatment of children. In compliance with which, SDM Ambikapur and CMHO Dr RN Gupta, with mutual coordination, provided prompt first aid to the children in the district hospital.

Similarly, necessary treatment was given to the children by Tehsildar and Police Station Incharge Ambikapur in coordination with the doctors in the private hospital Masoom. The Collector and SP themselves reached the District Hospital and Masoom Hospital and met the children and talked to them. In the incident, the children were immediately sent to the hospital by the district administration team, none of the children suffered any serious injuries. All have been kept under observation and discharged after necessary treatment.
Investigation team formed
Prima facie, in the incident, air balloon was being inflated through a cylinder in the premises of Vivekananda Vidya Niketan School. Since it was lunch time, children were playing nearby. When this incident happened, people from the said organization along with children also got affected by it. A detailed investigation is being conducted into the cause of this incident and the reasons for the loss. For this, the police has started the process of checking the nearby CCTV. Police have formed a team and are investigating. After investigation, strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Collector gave information
Collector Kundan Kumar told that a loud noise was heard at 2-2.30 in the afternoon. Later it was found that a big balloon was being inflated through a cylinder, which exploded. The inflation program was being organized in the school premises. Since lunch time in school is from 2 to 2.30. So during lunch time the children were roaming here and there. Then about 33 children came under his influence. No one has suffered any serious injuries. 22 children were sent to the district hospital, 11 innocent children were immediately sent to the hospital. I and SP sir immediately reached the spot. Health team, SDM, Tehsildar had reached the spot. We inquired with the people nearby, there was a bit of a panic situation. There are 22 children in the district hospital, some of whom have a slight scratch on their neck. There is no serious injury to anyone. 11 children who are innocent are in the hospital. He has suffered normal injuries. He has been kept under observation. Three people who were working in the cylinder. He has suffered serious injuries. He is admitted in the hospital. This matter is being investigated. Talks have been held with the school headmaster. The guard has also been questioned about whatever cylinder is there. It was given in any institution without permission, in any institution, and in this institution. This is a matter of investigation.
