Damoh Hijab Controversy: Another accused has been arrested in the famous Hijab scandal of Ganga Jamuna School in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. Damoh police has arrested Shivdayal Dubey, a member of the school management committee accused of Rs 5,000 reward. A lookout notice was issued against him by the police. Ten accused are still absconding in this case.
It may be mentioned here that about a month and a half ago, the case of religious conversion and forced wearing of hijab to the children of Hindu religion had come to the fore in Damoh’s Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School. After this the matter took a communal turn. After the displeasure of the National Child Protection Commission, the state government swung into action mode. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had given instructions for strict action in this matter.
The arrested accused had a reward of 5 thousand on his head
In fact, after the controversy escalated, the principal of the school, a teacher and the watchman were immediately arrested and sent to jail. Later, after the investigation, the sections were increased, then efforts were made to arrest the members of the school management committee, seeing the progress of the case, all the accused had absconded. According to Additional SP Sandeep Mishra, Shivdayal Dubey, a member of the Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School Management Committee of Damoh city, has been arrested by the SP’s special team. Shivdayal is one of the 11 absconding accused, against whom a reward of 5 thousand was declared.
Speed in action after posting of new officers
It is said that after the transfer of the then SP of Damoh, Rakesh Kumar Singh, the new SP Sunil Tiwari and Additional SP Sandeep Mishra took charge, the action in this case gained momentum. The police first seized the accounts of the absconding accused and started the process of attachment of their property. On Wednesday (August 16), SHO Neha Goswami, SI Ramashankar Mishra and other colleagues involved in the special team raided the house of accused Shivdayal Dubey, from where he was arrested. At present, the arrest of ten accused related to this case is pending.
