New Delhi. The Indian team left for Zimbabwe tour right after winning the ICC T20 World Cup. However, the selectors rested the veterans and sent the team on a foreign tour with a new captain. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, the Indian team made a tremendous comeback in the 5-match T20 series after losing the first match. The team won the series 4-1 by winning the last four matches consecutively. Now it is the turn of another foreign tour. Team India will leave for Sri Lanka with new coach Gautam Gambhir.
After the departure of coach Rahul Dravid, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has been made the new head coach of Team India. This veteran is going to start his new innings on the Sri Lanka tour. The Indian team will play T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka between 27 July and 7 August. 3 T20 and the same number of ODI matches will be played on this tour. The team has not been selected yet but senior players can be given rest. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will not be seen playing in the series against Sri Lanka.

After returning from Zimbabwe, the Indian team will be ready to go on its new mission. Team India has to play 3 T20 and then the same number of ODI matches with Sri Lanka. All the matches of the T20 series will be played in Pallekele while the Colombo stadium will host the ODI match. The Indian team will play two consecutive T20 matches on July 27 and July 28. After this, the third and last T20 match will be played on July 30. Talking about the ODI series, it will start on August 2 while the second ODI will be played a day later on August 4. The Indian team will play the last ODI match of the tour on August 7.
