New Delhi. Marking 75th years of Independence Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) Management Entrepreneurship Professional Skill Council (MEPSC) in collaboration with ThinkStartup (TS) for K12 segment and Bajaj Allianz Life in collaboration with India@75 Youth Ideathon has organized. This is a festive competition where school students will be able to present their innovative entrepreneurship ideas.

This three-stage competition will be held from 21 September to 13 November 2021, with the aim of inculcating the spirit of entrepreneurship among school students through the power of ideas that can transform the nation. The ideas of the winning students will be developed into prototypes/products. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recognized the Youth Ideathon.

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, as the chief guest at the launch ceremony of Youth Ideathon, said that I am happy that India@75 Youth Ideathon is being organized to celebrate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. It is a matter of happiness that Ideathon is being organized for the first time on a large scale for school children.

CBSE Director Dr. Biswajit Saha was the Guest of Honour at the launch event. He said, “The aim of India@75 Youth Ideathon is to bring together students from different backgrounds who have a passion for innovation and the confidence to change the country. I urge more and more students to come forward and participate in this Youth Ideathon.

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma launched the Youth Ideathon event.

Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Director, Atal Innovation Mission said that this innovation ecosystem is a welcome step for young students to experience the power of entrepreneurship at an early age.

Col Anil Kumar Pokhriyal, CEO, MEPSC said that today our children are the future of India. We are happy to support this event as it provides support to entrepreneurship at the right age.

Ms Shivani Singh Kapur, Founder, ThinkStartup expressed hope that India@75 Youth Ideathon will provide the connecting link between New Education Policy and Startup India. It will pave the way for India’s technological leap to global leadership.

According to Sanjeev Shivesh, Co-founder, ThinkStartup and Program Director, Youth Ideathon, we believe that the time has come for Youth Ideathon. It will be transformative for India and hence, Youth Ideathon stands for “Mera Vichaar Jo Badal De Bharat”.

Schools abroad affiliated to CBSE can also participate
Students from class 6 to 12 from all CBSE affiliated schools in India and schools abroad can participate in this competition. A website www.youthideathon.in has been specially created for students where they can participate in the Youth Ideathon for free. Also, students can submit as many ideas as they want.

500 participants of Young Innovators will be shortlisted through video interview
Along with the participation of lakhs of students in the Youth Ideathon, 500 participants of young innovators will be shortlisted through video interviews, from which the top 100 finalists of India@75 Youth Ideathon will be selected. The participating students will be given rewards in the form of cash prizes, mentoring, incubation and learning support. Not only this, the organizers have also scheduled daily webinars with successful entrepreneurs during the competition.

The winner of Youth Ideathon will get a prize of Rs 1 lakh
The winner of India@75 i.e. Youth Ideathon will get Rs 1 lakh. The first runner up of India@75 Youth Ideathon will get Rs 60,000 and the second runner up will get Rs 40,000 as prize. Apart from this, Rs 25,000 will be given for the best idea by a female student sponsored by Sheatwork. 700 more prizes will be distributed for the top 10 ideas.

There are also personal certificates and cash prizes of Rs 25,000 for Best Green Idea, Best Automation and Robotics Idea, Best Finance Idea, Best Health and Fitness Idea, Best Entertainment and Gaming Idea, Best Education Idea, Best Rural Development Idea. Also, Best Space Tech Idea, Best Social Idea and Best Consumer Product Idea have also been included in this list.
