The central government is going to increase the number of Jan Aushadhi Centers (Jan Aushadhi Yojana). Question- How does Jan Aushadhi Kendra open?
answer- It costs only Rs 2.50 lakh to start a generic medical store. And in this way the government itself is bearing the entire expense. The government has created three types of categories for starting generic medical stores.

(1) Under the first category, any person, unemployed pharmacist, doctor or registered medical practitioner can start a store.

(2) Under the second category, trusts, NGOs, private hospitals, society self-help groups will get opportunities.

(3) The third category will include agencies nominated by state governments. For this, it is necessary to have a shop in 120 square feet area. 900 medicines will be provided by the government to start the store.

Question- Who can open Jan Aushadhi Kendra?
answer- Any individual or businessman, hospital, NGO, pharmacist, doctor, and medical practitioner can apply to open a medicine center under PMJAY. Under PMJAY, medicines worth up to Rs 50,000 are given in advance to SC, ST and disabled applicants for opening a medicine centre. In PMJAY, a medicine shop is opened in the name of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra.

If you are applying yourself then your Aadhaar and PAN card will be required. If any non-government organization (NGO), pharmacist, doctor, and medical practitioner applies to open a Jan Aushadhi Kendra, then they will have to provide Aadhaar, PAN, certificate of formation of the organization and its registration certificate. To open a medicine center under PMJAY, you must have at least 120 square feet of space.

Question- How much will be earned through these stores?
20 percent of the medicines sold through the generic medical store in a month will be given as commission. In this sense, if you sell even Rs 1 lakh in a month, you will earn Rs 30 thousand in that month.

(1) Up to 20% profit on print price of medicine
(2) One-time financial assistance up to Rs 2 lakh
(3) Jan Aushadhi Kendra will be given an additional incentive of 10% of the sales of 12 months. However, this amount will be maximum Rs 10,000 every month.
(4) This incentive can be 15% in North Eastern states, Naxal affected areas and tribal areas.
(5) Here also in rupee terms this amount can be maximum Rs 15,000.
