New Delhi. Former fast bowler of the Indian cricket team, Irfan Pathan has been a match-winning cricketer. Pathan has led Team India to victory many times with his all-round ability. Pathan, who was a part of the 2007 T20 World Champion team, was called the Sultan of Swing. He showed a sample of his swing during the Pakistan tour in 2006. Irfan stunned everyone by taking a hat-trick in the first over of the first innings of the Karachi Test match. Irfan had told a few years ago that during that tour he was asked the question as to why he played for India despite being a Muslim. Irfan answered this very politely.
Born on 27 October 1984 in Baroda, Irfan Pathan turned 40 on Sunday. Pathan told in a program organized in Nagpur in 2017 that he had gone to Pakistan in 2004 for a friendly series. On that tour, he reached a college in Lahore with Rahul Dravid, Parthiv Patel and Laxmipati Balaji. About 1500 children were present in the college and were asking questions.

Pathan said that if he can go to Pakistan and say this for his country in front of them, then why can’t he express his views in his own country. Irfan Pathan played an important role in making India the T20 World Cup champion. In the T20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007, Irfan took a total of 10 wickets in 7 matches. He has 28 wickets in his name in 24 T20 International matches. Irfan scored 172 runs with the bat in T20. Due to continuous injury and poor form, he could not retain his place in Team India. He played his last international match in T20 in October 2012.
