David Johnson played in 2 Test matches
David Johnson, 52, who played two Tests for India in 1996, died after falling from the fourth floor balcony of his apartment here. The local police have said that an investigation is underway to find out if it was a case of suicide. He is survived by his wife and two children. Johnson was running a cricket academy near his house but was unwell for some time.

Karnataka Cricket Association official said, ‘We were informed that David Johnson had fallen from the fourth floor of his apartment. He was taken to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.’ He played a total of 39 first-class matches. He was part of Karnataka’s strong bowling unit which included Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad and Dodda Ganesh.
