Who is Tanmay Agarwal? Scored a world record by scoring a triple century in 147 balls, breaking the records of Viv Richards and Sehwag.

Tanmay Agarwal has become the batsman to score the fastest triple century in the world. This batsman left many legends behind while hitting sixes and fours.

The Ranji Trophy match played between Arunachal Pradesh and Hyderabad on 26 January 2024 has been recorded in the pages of history. In just one day’s play, Tanmay Agarwal scored a triple century, beating the bowlers in a spectacular manner. By scoring this explosive triple century, Tanmay made a world record in his name. This batsman scored 323 runs with the help of 21 sixes and 33 fours in just 147 balls.

Who is Tanmay Agarwal?

28 year old Tanmay was born on 3 May 1995 in Andhra Pradesh. When he developed an inclination towards cricket at an early age, his parents encouraged him towards this game. The result of Tanmay’s explosive game was that he made it to the Hyderabad Under-14 team. He was successful in making a place in the team in Under-16, Under-19, Under-22 and Under-25. Got a chance to debut in first class cricket in the year 2014. Tanmay also made a place in the Indian Premier League franchise team Sunrisers Hyderabad. Has scored more than 3500 runs in 56 first class matches.



Records of Richards and Sehwag destroyed

Tanmay now broke the record of triple century made by South Africa’s Marco Marais on 191 runs by scoring 147 runs. This feat was accomplished by the great West Indies batsman Viv Richards in 244 balls. By scoring 300 runs in one day, Tanmay left behind even Indian legend Virender Sehwag. In 2009, he scored 284 runs in one day in the Brabourne Test against Sri Lanka.
