The death of a 19-year-old boy in a Punjab town after being hit by a BMW is the latest in a series of accidents caused by high-speed super luxury cars that highlight the dire consequences of reckless driving and are a reminder that the thrill of speed can sometimes lead to disaster.
Four such incidents have taken place in the country this month itself. In Punjab’s Zirakpur city on Tuesday night, a car hit a motorcycle, throwing three youths into the air. One died on the spot and the other two were seriously injured. The car driver, who hailed from Mohali, was arrested and then released on bail.
