A video is going viral on social media. In this incident in West Bengal, a couple accused of ‘illicit relationship’ has been beaten up. The person doing the beating in the viral video clip is allegedly a Trinamool Congress leader. Police have registered a case in this case which came to light on Sunday. After the decision of ‘Salishi Sabha’ (Kangaroo Court), a local Trinamool Congress leader allegedly beat up a couple with a stick in Chopra of North Dinajpur district. In this case, Islampur Superintendent of Police Thobi Thomas said, the police have verified the incident on the basis of social media video clip and registered a case. Raids have been started to arrest the culprit.
BJP attacked, said the attacker was close to TMC MLA
The woman seen in the video clip is seen groaning in pain. The accused also beat the man present there with a stick. The opposition party BJP in the West Bengal Assembly has also slammed the ruling TMC in this matter. The party said, bulldozer justice is happening in Bengal during the tenure of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote in an X post, ‘This incident is the ugly face of Mamata Banerjee’s rule.’ He claimed that the man who beat up is a close associate of Chopra’s TMC MLA Hamidur Rahman.
There is no trace of law and order in Bengal
According to Amit Malviya, the person who is brutally beating a woman in the video… is famous for his attitude of allegedly providing instant justice under the Kangaroo Court. He said that there is a Sandeshkhali in every village of West Bengal. Malviya called CM Mamata Banerjee a curse for the women of the state. Referring to former TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh and Sandeshkhali, the BJP said, there is no trace of law and order in Bengal. Will Mamata Banerjee take action against this monster or will she protect him like Shahjahan Sheikh?
TMC denies BJP’s allegations
After the case hit the headlines, local TMC MLA Hamidur Rahman denied having any connection with the accused. He said that he has nothing to do with this case. According to Rahman, the incident is at the village level and Trinamool Congress has nothing to do with it. TMC district president Kanyalal Agarwal said that the beating incident probably happened because the alleged illicit relationship between the couple was ‘not liked by the villagers’. He said that the party will investigate the matter.
