The Fact Finding Committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today submitted its report to the party’s national president JP Nadda. The committee includes former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, former Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. Other members of the committee include former Uttar Pradesh Police Director General Brij Lal and Rajya Sabha woman member Kavita Patidar. The BJP’s Fact Finding Committee, formed to investigate the cases of post-poll violence in West Bengal, gathered information by visiting the affected areas of the state. The four members of the committee submitted their report to JP Nadda after returning to Delhi from Bengal.
The committee said in its report that the government machinery is being grossly misused in Bengal. Accusing the Trinamool Congress of hooliganism, the BJP committee has claimed that threats are being given to party supporters and those dissatisfied with TMC. Serious allegations like violence and attacks have also been made. The committee says that serious questions have been raised on the electoral process during the tenure of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
After submitting the report on X, the committee’s convenor and former Tripura CM Biplab Deb wrote, “The goons supported by the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal have spread violence in the state. The administration has been politicized and these people have made the lives of the common people difficult. Biplab said, ‘Mamata Banerjee and her allies have maintained silence on the post-election violence and cruelty against women in Bengal, which is highly condemnable.’
