West Bengal BJP has criticized TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee. BJP alleges that Abhishek Banerjee had come to meet the victims of cyclone Remal wearing a T-shirt worth eight thousand rupees. BJP accused the TMC leader of making fun of the poor. TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee had come to a relief camp to meet the victims of the cyclone. There has been huge loss in Bengal due to the cyclone.

Sharing a picture of Abhishek Banerjee visiting a relief camp on social media, Bengal BJP wrote, “Abhishek Banerjee wore a T-shirt worth Rs 8,000 while going to the cyclone relief camp. TMC should be ashamed that they are making fun of the poor.” In this tweet, BJP also shared the picture of the advertisement showing the price of the T-shirt. This tweet of Bengal BJP has come after the tweet of TMC, in which TMC alleged that ‘BJP is away from the cyclone victims and is busy organizing drone shows in Kolkata.’ TMC wrote, “Abhishek Banerjee visited the relief camps and ensured that people get the necessary facilities.”

Heavy damage in Bengal due to storm

Cyclone Remal hit the coast of Bengal on Sunday night. Heavy rains occurred in Bengal due to the impact of the storm. Six people have died in Bengal in storm-related incidents and a large number of houses have been damaged. 10 people have died in Bangladesh due to the storm and about 1.5 lakh houses have been damaged. There is a tough competition between BJP and TMC in West Bengal. Voting is to be held on 10 seats of Bengal in the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, both the parties are not leaving any opportunity to corner each other. Abhishek Banerjee is once again contesting from Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha seat, where he is pitted against Pratikur Rahman of CPIM and Abhijit Das of BJP.
