Chhattisgarh Weather Update: There will soon be relief from the scorching sun and hot summer in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. With the arrival of monsoon in Kerala, the monsoon winds are gradually moving forward rapidly, this is the reason why the mood of the weather has changed in Bastar for the last three days, and after the afternoon sun, it is raining heavily in the evening.

Meteorologist says that pre-monsoon has reached Bastar and monsoon will arrive in Bastar on 13th June, Meteorological Department has predicted good rains in Chhattisgarh this time.

Claimed to have made all preparations
Although last year the monsoon arrived quite late in Bastar, this year meteorologists have expressed hope that due to the early arrival of monsoon, there will be good rains in Bastar as well as in the entire Chhattisgarh, while the administration has claimed to have made all preparations to deal with the monsoon floods.

More than 6 villagers were killed
Last time, the way flood situation arose in many rural areas of Bastar division and more than 6 villagers died due to drowning in the flood, in view of which the administration has already claimed to have made all the preparations in advance.

A team was formed to monitor the water level in rivers and streams
Bastar Commissioner Shyam Dhavade said that this time after the weather department issued an alert regarding heavy rains, instructions were given in the Flood Management Committee meeting held recently to discharge its responsibility with caution by ensuring all the necessary arrangements and preparations for flood disaster management in the division in advance. In the meeting, along with the establishment of the flood disaster control room, he has also given instructions to appoint officers in charge and to put the employees on duty as per the roster to operate the control room 24 hours.

Instructions have been given to the officers
Along with this, the commissioner informed that along with monitoring the water level in the rivers and streams in the flood affected areas of different districts of the division, instructions have been given to strengthen the information system and regular presence of the field staff of the concerned area at the headquarters and deployment of response teams and stopping the movement of people by barricading when the water level in the rivers and streams is high, including marking school buildings, community buildings and panchayat buildings for temporary relief camps in these areas and ensuring food items, drinking water arrangements, availability of bamboo sticks and other items at such places.

Flood disaster management completed preparations by conducting mock drill
Apart from this, the Commissioner informed that for flood disaster management, instructions have been given by him to check the rain gauges and keep them in working condition, availability of motor boats, life jackets, ropes, torches, along with pre-marking and keeping trained divers and swimmers on alert. The Commissioner said that instructions have also been given to the flood disaster management to conduct mock drills within a week to prevent flood disaster.

Control room numbers have been released
Apart from this, flood control rooms have been set up at all district as well as tehsil levels, and necessary arrangements and preparations have been asked to be made by holding a meeting of the Disaster Management Committee. Along with this, instructions have been given to form a combat team for the quick availability of emergency medical assistance. Commissioner Shyam Dhavade said that the administration has also issued control room numbers to deal with the floods in the 7 districts of Bastar division.
