India Meteorological Department informed on Tuesday that the monsoon season of 2024 has ended. This year, 7.6 percent more rainfall than normal was recorded.

After heavy rains in Nepal, water coming down from the mountains is causing havoc in Bihar. Flood has created havoc in more than half of Bihar. Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati, Mahananda and other rivers are in spate. More than 12 lakh people in 16 districts of the state have been affected by this natural disaster. Along with NDRF and SDRF, now the Air Force has also been deployed in relief and rescue operations. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has conducted an aerial survey of the flood affected areas and has directed to speed up the rescue operations. At the same time, 224 people have died, 24 are missing and 158 have been injured due to rain, floods and landslides in Nepal.
