WCL 2024: India defeated Pakistan to win the World Champions of Legends title, after Rayudu, ‘MP Sahab’ showed explosive style

New Delhi. The Yuvraj Singh-led Indian Champions team has won the World Championship of Legends trophy by defeating Pakistan Champions. Chasing the target of 157 runs set by Pakistan, India won the final by scoring 159 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 19.1 overs. Opener Ambati Rayudu and Yusuf Pathan, who recently became an MP from TMC, played an important role in the victory of Indian Champions by playing explosive innings. The final was played in Birmingham. Players who had retired from international cricket were playing in this league.

Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu gave a good start to the India Champions team chasing the target. Both of them shared a 34-run partnership for the first wicket. Uthappa scored 10 runs. After Uthappa was out, India soon lost its second wicket in the form of Suresh Raina. Raina was out after scoring 4 runs. When Raina was out, India’s score was 38 runs. After this, Rayudu got the support of Gurkeerat Singh. Both the batsmen took the score to 98. Gurkeerat returned to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs. Ambati Rayudu scored 50 runs with the help of 5 fours and two sixes in 30 balls. Yusuf Pathan was out after scoring 30 runs in 16 balls, while captain Yuvraj Singh played an unbeaten innings of 15 runs. Aamir Yamin took the maximum of 2 wickets from Pakistan.

The Pakistan team captained by Younis Khan scored 156 runs
Earlier, Pakistan Champions, captained by Younis Khan, scored 156 runs for 6 wickets. From their side, experienced Shoaib Malik played an innings of 41 runs in 36 balls while wicketkeeper-opener Kamran Akmal contributed 24 runs. Maqsood was out after scoring 21 runs while Misbah-ul-Haq retired hurt after scoring 18 runs. From India’s side, pacer Anureet Singh took the maximum of 3 wickets. Vinay Kumar, Pawan Negi and Irfan Pathan took one wicket each.

Ambati Rayudu became the player of the match
India Champions made it to the finals by defeating Australia Champions, while Pakistan Champions entered the title match by defeating West Indies. Teams from India, Pakistan, Australia, England, West Indies and South Africa participated in this tournament. Rayudu was selected as the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings.
