Even after 24 hours of heavy rain in the capital on Friday, people did not get any relief. The basements of houses in colonies located in low-lying areas got flooded. On looking there, only water is visible. The vehicles parked here got submerged in water. At the same time, people are forced to park their vehicles outside the house. Many underpasses and subways of Delhi were also not away from this problem. They too were seen submerged on Saturday. People coming and going from here are afraid of falling in dirty water. Along with this, they are also afraid that some untoward incident may occur due to this.

The basements of people’s houses in Daryaganj, Turkman Gate, Chandni Chowk, Ballimaran, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Abul Fazal Enclave, Sangam Vihar, Badarpur and other areas are filled with water. Waseem, who lives in Abul Fazal Enclave, said that the process of water filling in the basement of his house started from Friday. All the stuff kept in the basement has been ruined. He has even cut off the electricity of the basement, there is a fear that there may be a short circuit.

Engines got damaged due to water entering the vehicles

Rain is exposing the administration

Deepak, a resident of Daryaganj, says that the water from the drain has mixed with the rainwater and filled the basement. The car got damaged due to this. This rain exposes all the claims of the administration and the government that there will be no waterlogging. He said that this is the problem every year. The subway of Badarpur is filled with water. Due to this, people coming and going here are facing problems. Akanksha, a resident of Chalis Phuta, said that she is going to her office by metro.
