When the police team chased them, their bike slipped in the jungle of village Inchaura and two criminals ran away while firing. One criminal was injured by a police bullet. SP Rural Aditya Bansal said that the deceased was identified as Bihar’s notorious criminal Nilesh Rai, resident of Baro Rampur police station Garhara Begusarai Bihar. The Bihar government had announced a reward of two lakhs on him. Cases under 16 serious sections like murder, robbery, dacoity and extortion are registered against Nilesh.

SP Rural said that on 21 February 2024, when the police raided the police station Garhara area of ​​Begusarai, Nilesh along with his associates fired indiscriminately at the Bihar Police party and fled from the spot.
