New Delhi. The tenure of former Indian cricket team batting coach Vikram Rathore ended last month. It is reported that he may replace VVS Laxman as the new head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. According to a report, the contract of NCA head VVS Laxman is ending in September. He does not want to extend it further.
Sports Tak quoted the source as saying that there is a high possibility that you will see Rathore becoming the head of the NCA. At present, there is no confirmed information about VVS Laxman’s contract. But it is expected that he will leave the NCA in September. However, any announcement in this regard will be made after BCCI secretary Jay Shah returns from Sri Lanka. Rathore may be asked to take charge of the NCA. After the ICC meeting, the BCCI secretary (Jay Shah) will talk to VVS.
55-year-old Vikram Rathore, who played six Tests and seven ODIs for India during his two-year international career, was appointed India’s batting coach in August 2019 after Sanjay Bangar’s contract ended. When Rahul Dravid took over as the head coach of the Indian team in November 2021, he was asked to extend his tenure as batting coach.
VVS Laxman may join LSG
After completing his tenure at NCA, VVS Laxman can join IPL team Lucknow Supergiants. He can join the coaching staff of the franchise. This information has been given by Times of India quoting a source. However, it will be confirmed in September where Vikram Rathod and Laxman go.
