Lauderhill. Indian team’s star batsman Virat Kohli’s bat is silent in the T20 World Cup. So far he has been able to score only five runs in three matches but India’s batting coach Vikram Rathod is not at all worried about this. He said that the form of this star batsman is not a matter of concern because he seems to be in great rhythm in the nets.
Kohli, who has scored the most runs in the Indian Premier League, has not been able to show such brilliance in the World Cup yet. He scored only one run against Ireland and four against Pakistan, while he could not even open his account against America. After the match against Canada was washed out due to rain, Rathore said, “I like that whenever I come here, I am asked questions about Virat Kohli. Whether he is performing well or not. There is nothing to worry about.”
Virat Kohli is opening the innings with Rohit Sharma in the ICC T20 World Cup. He was out after scoring just 1 run in the first match against Ireland. He could score only 4 runs while playing against Pakistan in the second match, while playing against America, he could not even open his account.
Vikram further said, “He (Kohli) has performed brilliantly in the tournament (IPL) in which he has come here. Things don’t change if he doesn’t perform well in a few matches. He is really batting very well.”
Rathore is confident that Kohli will perform well when needed. He said, “It is good that he is looking a little more hungry to score runs. He is really desperate to perform well. We will get to see some good innings from him in the future.”
