Russia Ukraine War: US President Joe Biden has allowed Ukraine to use long-range missiles like ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile Systems). This would enable Ukraine to attack military targets inside Russia. This step could be decisive in this war, but it could further increase tensions between NATO and Russia. The decision to allow Ukraine to use Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACM, for long-range attacks on Russia comes as thousands of North Korean troops have arrived to help Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and many of his Western supporters have been pressing Biden for months to allow Ukraine to attack military targets inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles. He said US sanctions have limited Ukraine’s efforts to stop Russian attacks. Some Ukrainian supporters have argued that such US obstruction could lead Ukraine to war. This debate has also become a cause of disagreement among Ukraine’s NATO allies. Some people have also expressed objection to the use of missiles.
Russia and North Korea military cooperation
Cooperation between Russia and North Korea has now increased at the military level. North Korea has reportedly sent 12,000 soldiers to Russia and also supplied weapons. It is clear from this that the war is now moving beyond a regional conflict and becoming a part of factionalism at the global level. However, meanwhile, newly elected President Donald Trump had claimed in the upcoming US elections that he will end this war soon. However, his approach could be controversial, as he could force Ukraine to give up some areas. This may raise questions about America’s policy of supporting Ukraine.
