Preparations for this year’s presidential election in the US have reached an interesting turn. After a poor performance in the debate with his Republican rival Donald Trump in Atlanta, pressure is mounting on President Joe Biden to drop out of the White House race. Meanwhile, on Monday he admitted that he is getting older. However, he said that he knows how to tell the truth to people.

It is believed that concerns have increased in some sections of the Democratic Party after Biden’s poor performance in the 90-minute debate in Atlanta on Thursday night. There are reports that Biden’s family is encouraging him to stay in the 2024 presidential race. Meanwhile, Biden indicated on Monday that he is not withdrawing from the race.

“Friends, I may not walk as easily or talk as freely as I used to. I may not debate as well as I used to. But I do know how to tell people the truth,” Biden posted on his personal X account.

According to CNN, Biden’s family on Sunday encouraged him to stay in the presidential race. His family privately discussed whether Biden’s performance in the debate had any impact on his election campaign.

Biden’s family, including first lady Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden and his grandchildren, gathered at Camp David for a pre-scheduled meeting to urge the president to run for re-election, advisers told CNN. The family was upset with the team that prepared Biden ahead of the debate with the former president, CNN quoted an adviser as saying. They discussed whether Biden’s top adviser should be fired and whether changes should be made to the campaign team.
