Meerut News: Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) has made a plan to improve the weak system of the electricity department in 14 districts of western UP. As soon as this plan is completed, the electricity system of western UP will improve further. PVVNL MD Isha Duhan brainstormed with the officers regarding this plan and gave instructions to complete the work expeditiously.
Under the business plan for the financial year 2024-25, works have been approved in all 14 districts for upgradation and strengthening of the power system at a cost of Rs 1202.91 crore. Construction of nine 33/11 kV substations at a cost of Rs 45.85 crore, construction of 33 kV lines at a cost of Rs 144.83 crore, capacity enhancement of 132 power transformers at a cost of Rs 101.01 crore, strengthening of 33/11 kV powerhouses including VCB at a cost of Rs 211.86 crore, capacity enhancement of 5152 transformers of different capacities (25, kVA to 150 kVA) at a cost of Rs 114 crore will be done.
Apart from this, work of installation of 2274 new transformers of different capacities (25 kVA to 250 kVA) at a cost of Rs 129.81 crore, work related to 349 11 kV new line/feeder bifurcation and strengthening at a cost of Rs 69.16 crore, work of 2000 system electrical system improvement work at a cost of Rs 132.29 crore, work related to electrical workshop at the cost of 121.64 crore and along with this, civil related works at the cost of Rs 38.40 crore, commercial related works at the cost of Rs 30.94 crore will be done in 14 districts.
Power cuts have disturbed sleep, focus on future planning
This time the scorching heat exposed the weak system of the electricity department in 14 districts of western UP. Many areas were deprived of electricity and water in the scorching heat. If the electricity department was successful in repairing the weak wires and transformers in one area, the weakness of another area would be exposed. As a result, there was chaos due to power cuts in many districts. To prevent this from happening in the future, the electricity department is focusing completely on repairing the entire system with a business plan.
The system of 14 districts will be hi-tech
This time, PVVNL MD Isha Duhan has suspended many careless officers of the electricity department for negligence in power supply. Many senior officers are also included in this. MD Isha Duhan says that 14 districts of western UP will benefit from the business plan scheme. If the capacity of the transformer increases, it will provide relief to electricity consumers. Along with this, the problem of low voltage and tripping in the areas will also be resolved.
