UP Weather Monsoon Update: Four deaths due to lightning, IMD Orange Alert in Mau Mathura Aligarh Agra Varanasi

The spell of rain is continuing in the state. Southwest monsoon advanced covering eastern Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Rainy clouds in many other parts of West Uttar Pradesh will cover the entire state in the next 48 hours. On the other hand, heavy rain has increased difficulties in many states of the country including Punjab, Himachal and Uttarakhand. In the hilly states, roads are closed due to landslides due to rain, while in the plains, roads are flooded. Telephone lines have broken in Arunachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain for the next four days in 18 states including Delhi.

The Meteorological Department said that a cyclonic circulation is prevailing over north-east Rajasthan, eastern and north-western Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rains occurred in different areas of Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Saturday. The monsoon has advanced to some more areas in eastern and western Uttar Pradesh and will reach the entire country in two-three days.

Heavy rains are also occurring in all the northeastern states including Assam, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Sikkim and parts of West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu. One person died due to wall collapse in Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in these states till July 3. Moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms have been forecast in Delhi for the next seven days.

In UP, till 8.30 am on Saturday, Auraiya, Kannauj, Lambhua of Sultanpur, Hardoi received more than 100 mm of rain. Kalpi, Kumarganj, Bhatpurwa Ghat-Sitapur, Ayodhya, Mahroni of Lalitpur and Balrampur recorded 64 to 82 mm of rain. Lucknow received 57 mm of rain. Due to continuous rain, the day temperature in many cities fell to 31 degrees.

Banda, Chitrakoot, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and surrounding areas.

Four killed due to lightning

Four people died in different districts of Gorakhpur-Basti division on Saturday due to lightning while a woman was seriously burnt. A teenager, a woman in Kushinagar, a youth in Deoria, a farmer in Siddharthnagar have died.
