Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will appear in Sultanpur MP-MLA Court on July 26 at 10:00 am. In the case of objectionable remarks against Home Minister Amit Shah during the Karnataka assembly elections in 2018, BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a defamation case against Rahul, in which his statement is to be recorded.

The court had started the process of non-bailable warrant against Rahul Gandhi in December 2023. Then on 20 February, he surrendered in the court. After this, the special court granted him bail on two bonds of 25 thousand each. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President (In-charge Administration) Dinesh Kumar Singh said that Rahul Gandhi will reach Lucknow airport on July 26 at 9:00 am and from there he will come to Sultanpur by road.
