Actually, 17 years ago, Mohammad Shabbir’s daughter Khairulnisha died due to illness and Shabbir loved his daughter very much. But the death of his daughter broke him, but the love for the same daughter and her memory made him different from the common people.

Shabbir used to give ten rupees to his daughter every day and the daughter used to keep that money in a piggy bank. After his death, when the piggy bank was broken, the 54,000 rupees found in it made the story a caravan. That money was used in the service of the people in memory of the daughter. The first hand pump was installed at Jhinjhak railway station in Kanpur countryside in 2007 and a campaign was started to quench the thirst of the people. Who is Water Man Mohammad Shabbir
Shabbir, a resident of Jhinjhak in Kanpur Dehat, says that he is about 54 years old. He works in a private job in Kanpur from which he earns about 12 thousand rupees every month. Wherever the train stops from Jhinjhak station in Kanpur Dehat to Kanpur station, Shabbir gets down there and helps people who get down to fill water bottles or take water. Shabbir was also given permission by the railway administration that he can do any kind of work at the station and no one will stop him. Due to which every year he plants 5 trees at the station with his own money. He also takes care of them, even the responsibility of watering the trees is not taken by the station administration but by Shabbir.

Seeing Shabbir’s generosity and kindness, people of the area and station call him Bhagirath. People say that Shabbir has quenched the thirst of lakhs of people. The hand pump installed by him does not leave anyone thirsty passing by. People appreciate Shabbir for such a unique deed and consider him like God.
