UP Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Lok Sabha Elections Counting of votes is underway. Meanwhile, there is good news for the Bharatiya Janata Party which is lagging behind in Uttar Pradesh. BJP which was trailing behind Samajwadi Party till afternoon has now overtaken SP. In the latest trends, BJP is leading on 36 seats, SP on 33 and Congress on 7 seats.

BJP was claiming to win 80 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh but when the counting of votes started, all the claims were overturned. BJP was not seen repeating the performance of the last two elections, let alone winning 80 seats in UP. Once it happened that SP became the largest party in UP and even overtook BJP.

Good news for BJP
But BJP seems to be making a comeback once again. BJP has now overtaken SP and is now seen to be the biggest party in UP after gaining 36 seats. Although these are not the final figures, both NDA and All India Alliance can still move ahead or behind, there is a close competition between the two.

The 36 seats in Uttar Pradesh where the BJP is leading are Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Hathras, Mathura, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Badaun, Aonla, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Misrikh, Unnao, Lucknow, Farrukhabad, Kanpur, Akbarpur, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Phulpur, Bahraich, Kaiserganj, Gonda, Dumariyaganj, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Salempur, Varanasi and Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat.

Apart from this, BJP has lagged behind in seats like Ayodhya and Amethi. Out of these, SP candidate from Ayodhya, MP Lallu Singh is trailing while Smriti Irani is also trailing from Amethi. Six ministers in UP are trailing. BJP may be seen as the biggest party in UP but this is still being seen as a setback for them.
