According to the report of English website India Today, sources claimed that Rahul Gandhi in Amethi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Rae Bareli will go to Ayodhya before nomination and can have darshan of Ram Lalla. While voting for Wayanad will conclude on April 26, the process of nomination for Rae Bareli and Amethi seats will also begin on the same day.
When can Rahul and Priyanka file nomination?
According to the report, sources also claimed that there will be no formal announcement on this matter before April 30. Many party leaders including the Congress high command are silent on the issue of candidates in Rae Bareli and Amethi. On the question of contesting elections from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi himself has said that this decision will be taken by the National President of Indian National Congress Mallikarjun Kharge and the Central Election Committee. He had recently said that I am a soldier of Congress and I will follow whatever order is given to me.
India Today’s report claims that if Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra decide to contest elections from Amethi and Rae Bareli respectively, then both the leaders will file nominations for their respective seats between May 1 and 3. May 3 is the last day for nomination in both the constituencies. Voting will be held in both the Lok Sabha constituencies under the 5th phase on May 20.
