UP Lok Sabha Election 2024: The fifth phase of voting was completed safely in UP. State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha General Election-2024, voting for the by-election in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state as well as Lucknow East Assembly constituency was completed peacefully. An average of 57.98 percent voting took place till 6 pm in the 14 Lok Sabha seats of the fifth phase. Changes are possible after complete data is received.

Navdeep Rinwa said that according to the data received from the districts, the highest turnout was in Barabanki at 67.10 percent. Taking all the phases together, the highest turnout has taken place on this seat out of the total 52 seats. In the year 2019, 63.61 percent voting took place on this seat. The lowest turnout was in Gonda at 51.64 percent. Apart from this, 62.72 in Mohanlalganj, 52.23 in Rae Bareli, 54.40 in Amethi, 56.15 in Jhansi, 60.56 in Hamirpur, 57.05 in Fatehpur, 52.79 in Kaushambi, 59.10 in Faizabad. And 55.68 percent in Kaiserganj Voting took place. Whereas in the by-election of Lucknow East Assembly, 52.45 percent voting took place. He told that in 2019, a total of 58.38 percent voting took place in these 14 Lok Sabha constituencies. In the fifth phase of elections, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is contesting from Lucknow, Union Minister Smriti Irani from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli.

These arrangements should be made regarding security
In the process of voting, webcasting was arranged at 14,984 polling places, which was supervised at all three levels by the District Election Officer, Chief Electoral Officer and Election Commission of India. Apart from this, videography was also arranged at 4,199 polling places. In the fifth phase of postal ballot voting, 21,907 voters voted through postal ballot. Among voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters who had opted for postal ballot, voting was conducted by the polling team at their homes. In this process, 14 general observers, 9 police observers and 15 expenditure observers were also deployed. Apart from this, 2,416 Sector Magistrates, 327 Zonal Magistrates, 549 Static Magistrates and 3,619 Micro Observers were also deployed.
