UP Floods: The first monsoon rain caused a surge in the rivers of eastern UP, the water level rose rapidly in 16 hours

UP Weather Update: Rivers have been in spate since the first monsoon rain in eastern UP. In the last 12 to 24 hours, after Ghaghra, the water level of Rapti and Rohin is also increasing rapidly. Due to continuous rains in Nepal, the water level of rivers flowing in the mountains has increased, due to which the water level of rivers in eastern UP has increased rapidly. Due to heavy rains and the rise in the rivers in the Terai region of India along with Nepal, the danger of flood has started looming.

 It has been raining continuously for two days in eastern UP. The effect of rain on the mountains of Nepal is also visible here. Due to the rising water level of mountain rivers, the rivers of eastern UP have also overflowed. According to the report of 8:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, Ghaghra river is flowing 3.25 RL meter below the danger point 92.73 on Ayodhya bridge. In 16 hours, Ghaghra is rising by 0.05 RL meter on Ayodhya bridge. 

Rivers in spate after rain
Ghagra is flowing 4 RL meters below the danger point of 64.01 at Turtipar. Ghagra has risen by 0.19 RL meter in Turtipar in 16 hours. Rapti river was in spate 24 hours ago. According to the report of 8:00 am on 3 July, Rapti is flowing 2.85 RL meters below the danger point of 74.98 at Birdghat. The dangerous thing is that Rapti is rising at a speed of 0.36 RL meter in 16 hours.

Speed ​​of Rohin and Kuano rivers also increased
The Rohin river flowing in Gorakhpur is flowing 3.43 RL meter below the danger point of 82.44 at Trimukhani Ghat. But Rohin is rising at a speed of 0.34 RL meter in the last 16 hours. The Kuano river flowing south of Gorakhpur is flowing 3.82 RL meter below the danger point of 78.65 at Mukhalispur. Kuano is continuously on the rise. In the last 16 hours, the Kuano river is on the rise at a dangerous speed of 1.67 RL meter in Mukhalispur.

Gurra river also near danger point
 Gurra river is flowing 4.1 meters below the danger point of 70.50 in Pindra. Gurra is on the verge of rising 0.2 RL meter in Pindra in 16 hours. While continuous rain has disrupted life in eastern UP, the rapidly rising rivers of eastern UP are ringing the alarm bells. In such a situation, it is necessary to activate flood posts in sensitive villages in rural areas as well as make other security arrangements.
