UP Flood CM Yogi Adityanath gives instructions to provide assistance to flood victims within 24 hours

Uttar Pradesh Flood Latest News: Chief Minister yogi adityanath CM Yogi held a high-level meeting on Monday to deal with the floods. During this, he reviewed the flood situation and efforts to deal with it with the officials. CM Yogi instructed that the embankments should be continuously monitored, instructed to provide relief material to the flood victims and clearly said that there should be no compromise on the quality of the relief material.

In UP, 1571 villages in 69 tehsils of 20 districts are affected by floods. Apart from these, floods have disrupted the lives of people in urban areas of Bareilly, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur. Due to which 14.80 lakh people are affected. Out of which 5.29 lakh people have suffered loss of agriculture, houses, household goods and animals.

Officials told the CM that this year the state has received 242.50 mm rainfall as against the normal 220 mm rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in eastern UP till July 22. All district administrations including the Relief Commissioner’s Office are in 24×7 alert mode.

Relief assistance provided within 24 hours
CM Yogi instructed the officials to provide immediate assistance to the flood affected families. All the officials should work in better coordination with each other to prevent disaster. All the officials and personnel should behave courteously with the flood victims. If someone’s crop has been damaged in the flood, land has been eroded in the river and household goods have been washed away, in all such cases, assistance amount should be made available within 24 hours.

The Chief Minister said that flood or excessive rain situation should be monitored. The water level of all rivers and embankments should be monitored 24×7. In the affected districts, the flood units of NDRF, SDRF/PAC and disaster management teams should remain in active mode 24×7. Food packets and ration material should be made available to flood victims on time in every situation. Special attention should be paid to the quality and quantity of food and food grains.

Strict instructions to deal with flood
He said that in villages where waterlogging is taking place during floods, animals should be shifted to safer places as per the need. The place should be selected keeping in view the local conditions. There should be adequate arrangements for animal fodder at these places. Availability of anti-snake venom and anti-rabies injections should be ensured in hospitals in flood-affected areas.

CM Yogi instructed that concrete efforts should be made to solve waterlogging along with floods. In view of the possibility of urban floods in urban areas, drains should be cleaned and pumping stations should be kept functional for draining out water from low-lying areas. Alternative arrangements for gensets should also be made for operating pumping stations in urban areas.
