Kaushambi News: The Yogi government is making several efforts to make Uttar Pradesh a better state and to promote religious tourism in the state. On the one hand, tourist facilities are being developed in various tourist centers of the state including Kashi-Ayodhya. On the other hand, emphasis is being laid on the development of Buddhist circuits (Buddhist pilgrimage sites) in the state and the process of completing them with new tourist attractions. In this sequence, the work of installing a 51 feet high bronze statue of Lord Buddha in Kaushambi is being expedited.

In this regard, the State Lalit Kala Academy under the Uttar Pradesh Culture Department has started the e-tender process through a short term notice. This will complete the process of determining and allocating the agency for the construction and installation of the statue. After receiving the tender, the designated agency will have to complete the work of installing the statue within 7 months. For this, the prototype of the statue will be made in the first 1 month, after which the main statue will be completed and installed within 6 months after getting approval.

The statue will be cast using the lost wax process
The statue of Mahatma Buddha to be installed in Kaushambi will be completed through hollow cast method. The special thing is that the statue will not be made by joining bronze sheets but it will be cast through lost wax process. The bronze metal used for the statue will have 85 percent copper, 5 percent lead, 5 percent tin and 5 percent zinc as alloy.

During this time, the weight of bronze in the statue will be 52 tons while 20 tons of iron will also be used in its installation. The statue will be hollow from inside whose metal thickness casting will be 7 to 8 millimeters. It is noteworthy that Mahatma Gautam Buddha spent Chaturmas in Kaushambi and gave the message of truth and non-violence to the people. Because of this, followers of Buddhism from all over the world come here to visit and worship the Buddhist site.
