Women have expectations from the budget

Till about 12 years ago, there was a separate tax system for women in the country. In this, the basic exemption limit for women taxpayers in income tax was slightly higher than that of men. That is, women used to pay less tax than men. But the Congress government had abolished this system in the financial year 2012-13. Then the government introduced the same tax slab for both men and women. Since then there is no separate income tax slab for women. However, this time women are expecting from the Modi government that a separate tax slab will be introduced for women.

Sources related to the government say that keeping in mind the women voters, the government can bring a separate tax slab for women taxpayers. That means they can get separate and more exemptions in the budget. Currently, in the new tax system, no tax has to be paid up to Rs 7 lakh. Now the government can increase it to Rs 8 lakh.

In the last budget, this much money was allocated for agriculture

The last budget of the central government was about Rs 48 lakh crore. Out of this, only about Rs 1.25 lakh crore was spent for the farmers of the whole country. Out of this, about Rs 65 thousand crore was given through the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi. Whereas the focus of the central government should be on strengthening the entire agriculture. He believes that the economic condition of farmers or agriculture cannot be changed by giving cash assistance of about Rs 500 every month.

What are the expectations of the agriculture sector from the budget this time?

Before the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met the representatives of farmers, agricultural experts and top officials of agriculture related departments and took their suggestions. The Finance Minister understood their views to strengthen agriculture and farmers. Since liberalization, the entire focus of the central government has been on the development of markets and big companies. The result of this is that the majority of the youth of the country are still unemployed, the economic condition of the farmers has gone from bad to worse. The result of this is that every day farmers are being forced to leave farming. They are forced to live as laborers. She said that if the economic picture of the country has to be changed, then agriculture should be the priority of the central government, which is still the main source of livelihood for about 60 percent of the population of our country. She said that farmers should be given big help by providing minimum support price.

Women and youth hope for relief

Before the elections, the opposition parties surrounded the government on issues related to farmers, youth suffering from unemployment, women and working people and to a large extent they were successful in their aim. In such a situation, it will be very interesting to see what gift the government gives to the people of these sections in this budget. Experts believe that in the first full budget of its third term, the government can open the treasury for women, farmers and youth. New measures to increase employment for the youth can be seen in the budget, while the government can announce huge investments to further the BJP’s plan of making women lakhpatis.
