Recently Sunak visited the Sri Swaminarayan temple in London with his wife Akshata. After performing puja in the temple, he said, I am a Hindu and take inspiration from my faith. Sunak said that he is proud to take oath on the Bhagavad Gita as an MP. Before the general elections in Britain on July 4, such statements of Sunak are being seen as statements to woo Hindu voters.

Starmer has also clarified his views on strategic partnership with India, and he has also made many promises to the Indian community. Starmer expressed concern about Hinduphobia in Britain and condemned it. On the other hand, after reaching Swaminarayan temple in London, Sunak said that this temple is a great example of Britain’s development on behalf of the Hindu community. He said that education, hard work and family are my values and also the values of our party Conservative.
Hindus played a big role in the UK elections
Actually, Hinduism is the third largest religion in Britain. In Britain, organizations like BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha UK, Chinmaya Mission and ISKCON UK are known as representatives of Hindus. This is why leaders are visiting these temples. In terms of population in England and Wales, the total number of Hindus is 1.6 percent, they can play a very important role in the elections. Apart from this, the Hindu community in Britain lives in cities. In such a situation, 97 percent of Britain’s Hindus live in London and South East regions.
Sunak may get the vote of Hindus

Sunak is lagging behind in the pre-election surveys, but the Conservative Party is confident that British Hindus will be with them.
