Ujjain Assistant Engineer Arrested: In the city of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Assistant Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department was arrested red handed by the Lokayukta Police while taking a bribe of Rs 60,000. The woman officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 60,000 from the contractor in the name of helping him.
Lokayukta’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Pathak said that a complaint was received from contractor Akshay Patidar, who lives in Kshirsagar area, that Assistant Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department, Mrs. Nidhi Mishra was demanding a bribe of Rs 60,000 from him.
The bribe amount was recovered
When the complaint was first verified, it was found to be true, after which the Lokayukta police laid a trap to catch the woman officer red-handed. On Wednesday, the complainant put Rs 60,000 in the hand of the assistant engineer, and she signaled. After this, the Lokayukta police team caught the assistant engineer. The bribe amount has also been recovered from him.
Bribe was demanded for the amount of Jal Jeevan Mission
Lokayukta police said that Akshay Patidar had taken the contract in the year 2020 in Jal Jeevan Mission from village Kalukheda to Jheetar Khedi in the name of his firm Mansi Shri. In the year 2021, he completed his work with a delay of 4 months.
The assistant engineer was demanding bribe in lieu of resolving the delay period. He also said that this bribe will be given to senior officers. On this complaint, a 12-member team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Pathak, Sunil Talan caught Nidhi Mishra red-handed.
