Maharashtra Assembly Election: After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the political stir regarding the assembly elections in Maharashtra has increased. The leaders of the parties involved in the Mahavikas Aghadi talked about many issues including the upcoming assembly elections in a press conference on Saturday (15 June). During this, the MVA leaders have claimed that they will fight the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra together and will win.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray said, “We will move forward with all those who stayed with us and struggled with us. If some more people want to join us, we will consider it.”

According to PTI, Uddhav Thackeray said, “The people of the state have shown how hollow the myth of BJP’s invincibility is. The victory of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra is the beginning, not the end. He expressed confidence that the opposition alliance will win the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The MVA includes Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh), Congress and NCP (SP). Thackeray was addressing a joint press conference of the constituent parties of the MVA in South Mumbai, in which NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan also spoke.

The three parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi also held a preliminary meeting for the state assembly elections to be held later this year. Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said that a change of government in Maharashtra is certain after the results of the Lok Sabha elections. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pawar said, “We thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the political environment favorable for the MVA.”

Who gets how many seats in the Lok Sabha elections?

The Congress won 13 seats in the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections, a huge jump from the only seat it won in the state in 2019, while the Shiv Sena (UBT) got 9 and the NCP (SP) got 8 seats. Lok Sabha Elections In the seat sharing for the 2018 Lok Sabha elections, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party was given the maximum number of seats among the three constituents of the MVA. Out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) contested 21 seats, followed by Congress on 17 and NCP (SP) on 10 seats.

On the other hand, the ruling Mahayuti in Maharashtra managed to win only 17 seats, while the number of BJP seats came down from 23 (which it had won in 2019) to 9. Eknath Shinde The Shiv Sena led by Ajit Pawar won 7 seats, while the NCP led by Ajit Pawar won just one seat.
