U-19 WC 2024: Ireland had done the job, Hasan saved Pakistan by playing an unbeaten innings, won in Super Six

New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team narrowly escaped being the victim of an upset in the ICC Under-19 World Cup. In the first match of the Super Six, Ahmed Hasan led the team which was in trouble against the Irish team to victory with an unbeaten half-century. Batting first, the Irish team was able to score only 181 runs. While chasing a small target, Pakistan had lost 7 wickets but Hasan’s innings saved the team’s honour.

Pakistan’s journey to victory in the Under-19 World Cup continues. After winning the toss in the Super Six against Ireland, it was decided to bowl first. Captain Saad Baig put 7 bowlers on the front to take wickets in this match. Ubed Shah took the maximum of three wickets while Aamir Hasan, Ali Raza and Ahmed Hasan took 2 wickets each. On the basis of John McNally’s half-century, the Irish team managed to reach 181 runs.

Hasan’s all-round performance
Pakistan team was in trouble while chasing the target of 181 runs. The team had lost its 6 wickets on the score of 96 runs. The Irish team was close to pulling off an upset in the tournament, but Hasan, who was brilliant in bowling, dashed the Irish team’s hopes by showing his strength with the bat. By playing an unbeaten inning of 57 runs with the help of 7 fours on 72 balls, he took the team to victory in 43.4 overs.

India’s big win over New Zealand
While Pakistan had to sweat in the Super Six match, India achieved a big victory of 241 runs against New Zealand. On the basis of Musheer Khan’s explosive century, the team had scored 295 runs for 8 wickets. In front of the lethal bowling of Soumya Pandya, the New Zealand team collapsed for 81 runs. Musheer also shone in bowling and took two wickets.
